On-going research project by Naja Schønemann, Jakob Krog, Dóra Haraszti, Kaja Mærk Egeberg & Nina Tind
Det Levende Lys ( The Living Light ) is a cross disciplinary project that investigates light, ecstacy and channeling with point of departure in the visions of Hildegard von Bingen.
Hildegard von Bingen was a german benedictine abbess from the 12th century who created writings, music and illuminations (drawings) from her fever-like visions of a living light.
The group works on the border of performance, concert and ritual to include an audience in a spatial experience of the visions. We are interested in the cross disciplinary aspects of Hildegards work, were wave lengths of light, colour and sound seems to fusion in and out of different mediums.
What is a vision for us today, outside of the religious realm that made up Hildegards vocabulary at the time? How can it be accessible and tangible? The group works through residencies, latest one with a work showing at Teater Zeppelin, Copenhagen (collaboration with In Process by HAUT) in september 2021.
